Hello?

Mum left her computer on the table and left about an hour ago. She didn't say where she was going, but she put a knife in my hands and told me to use it if anything happened.
It was already logged in, and I had seen her post that picture of me that she sketched the other day.

Do any of you want to talk?

    1. Oh hi! You're auntie Rose, right? Mum talks about you a lot.

    2. Oh, wow. I feel honored. So...you're Ash's daugter, eh?

I always used to tease her about having kids. You must've been a pleasant surprise.

    3. Yep. She's my mum.

I'm not exactly sure how she feels about me being here, but she looks sad when she thinks I'm not looking. I think she's upset that she missed most of my life.

    4. Well, think of ALL the years to come that you'll be living together. You'll be a family.

You've got plenty to look forward to.

    5. Mum's scared that we'll die before then.

    6. Ah, you'll be fine. Don't let your mother worry you. I'll protect you if I have to.

    7. Oh, I'm not worried. I just know how she feels about it. She thinks I don't pay attention. But I do.

    8. You're very attentive for a girl your age. Tell me...what was being in the Dark like?

    9. I dunno. The Shadows left me alone. Darkness wanted me to be the way mum would like, I think. It's different out here. I was born in the Dark, I'm not sure how I feel about the Light.

    1. Hi Rose. And yeah, life is OK. Vikady is annoying, etc etc.

So how are you finding life on Earth, Erin? What do you like? What do you not like?

    2. I like the colors. And the food.
I'm not sure what I think about all the bright lights, though

    3. I like colours too! Lights, you get used to them. Also, the sun. Vitamin D. Good for you. But don't stay out in it too long, especially if you're pale.

If you have any queries about life on earth I would be happy to answer as best as I can! :)

    4. Mum says that the sun is an evil beast in the sky whose mission is to change three color if your skin.

Do you know any good books? I really like JRR Tolkein's Lord of the Rings.

    5. Lots of things change the colour of your skin. There's nothing wrong with someone having different colour skin to you, it doesn't make them any different.

You'll probably like Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett stuff as well. And Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy! When you get a bit older you might like the Chaos Walking series by Patrick Ness. And once you're even older, tackle A Song Of Ice And Fire.

    6. Ooh, mum is reading that last one. She said I couldn't read it until I was older.

    7. Hey, you like LotR? Then try reading "The Hobbit". It's AWESOME. I found it more enjoyable that Lord of the Rings.

    8. I think mum has that one...
I'll go check the library in her closet!
